What to Expect on Your First Run
Including Safety
We’ve designed Village Run to feel safe, welcoming, and sustainable—especially if it’s been a while.
Here’s what it’s like:
- Walk, jog, or run — your pace is respected
- Conversation pace (“miles for smiles”)
- No one left behind
- No selling, no pressure, no expectations
- Come solo or bring a friend
- Leave early if you need to — no explanations required
Safety First—Always
- We meet in a well-lit, open campus area
- The group starts and finishes together
- Headlamps or reflective gear are IMPORTANT
- First-timers are encouraged to bring a friend
- If weather conditions feel unsafe, we adjust or cancel
This is movement that fits real life.

Ours starts in Vacaville.
📍 Location: Kaiser Permanente – Vacaville Campus
🕔 Time: Wednesdays at 5:30 AM

Early mornings can be dark and cold.
Dress warmly, wear reflective gear if you have it, and bring a friend if it helps you feel more comfortable your first time.

Why This Exists
From the Founders

We didn’t start as runners—we started as parents.
In 2021, our son crossed the finish line last in a championship race. On the silent car ride home, he said something that changed everything:
“I will become a champion… whatever it takes.”
That moment forced a question we couldn’t ignore:
How do you support a runner’s dream when you don’t yet understand the journey?
Running changed us first.
It gave us rhythm.
It gave us community.
It gave us perspective.
Village Run exists so no one has to carry the journey alone—whether you’re a runner, a parent, or someone simply trying to show up for life again.
That belief is what we call Victory in Every Step™.

Village Run™ helps individuals and families run with purpose in health, relationships, and community through events and shared experiences.
Village Run™ is an initiative of Rvnner LLC and serves as the platform and producer of the Village Run Event Series.
The Village Run 5K is presented by Kaiser Permanente and produced in partnership with GivJoi Inc., a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit. The event supports GivJoi’s mission of expanding access and opportunity for youth runners.
Registration fees are event participation fees. A portion of proceeds supports the mission of GivJoi. Donations made directly to GivJoi may be tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
